| Richard, Last year I bought a black and white male, (Ben x Koko) pup from you. Although I picked him out when he was only 3 weeks old I finally got to take him home three weeks later. I named him Zipp and the name really does fit him. Zipp is the smartest dog I have ever seen. I worked for a vet for 5 years and saw thousands of dogs but none compare to the intelligence of Zipp. During the first car ride home, while he sat on my chest, he looked into my eyes and seemed to try and read my mind. His brown eyes shine with intelligence and interest. There are very few dogs that will maintain eye contact with a human. My friends, family, and even strangers are amazed at his beauty, intelligence, and personality. Zipp already knows probably 50 different words. All of his toys have different names and I will often make him retrieve certain toys. I recently bought him a toy and he learned the name of it, "giraffe", in 5 minutes! I was floored. I am writing this email to personally thank you for the hard work you do. You truly are raising some wonderful dogs. I have inclosed a picture of Zipp taken last weekend. He loves his frisbee! | Just wanted to let you know we took the puppy "Jake" to the vet and he's in great health. The vet already has us started on flea prevention. I just can't believe how smart he is, and he doesn't whine kennel at night and he hasn't messed in the house. This little guy has unbelievable control for 8wks. He gets all offended when we try to take him out to pee in the middle of the night. He's such a clown! Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about the vet visit. He's truly one of a kind! Thanks for a great addition to our family, Barbara Horton, April 05 |

| Dear Mr Swafford, Just a note to let you know how thrilled we are with our puppy. Her name is GiGi (aka Doll) (Blue Chip-Lucy) and she has become such a wonderful member of our family. GiGi is so inquisitive and learns so fast. She is 4 months old and already sits, gives paw, fetches, speaks, plays hide and seek, and absolutely loves to be hugged and cuddled. She was a gift for our 7 year old daughter Natalie's birthday. Natalie loves to teach her new things and GiGi is so patient and loving with Natalie. All we can say is you must be a warm loving kennel to produce such nice loving pets. Again, thank you for our GiGi, and for being so supportive in her trip to New Jersey. Sincerely, David, Desiree, Wesley, Meghan and Natalie Sparks, Elmer, New Jersey ~ April 2005 |

| Hi Richard! Just wanted to give you an update and tell you how happy we are with Dixie. She is about the friendliest puppy I've ever seen, running out to say hi to anyone and every dog that goes by! Our two girls, Caroline and Claire, just love her and we love having a dog again! She had a wonderful week at the beach and she is a pro going out on our small flats fishing boat now. She has finally gotten the house training down and has learned to sit, lay down, and stay (to a point). I think she is enjoying being a member of our family and has never once whined about being in her crate (even when we first got her!). Everyone in our neighborhood is in love with her! She has the most beautiful markings! Thanks again and hope all is well. Kathryn ~ July 2005 |

| Hey Richard, Sammie is doing great! We love her so much and she is doing so great. We have taught her to sit and lay down and are working on shaking hands. Sammie is really smart, lots of fun and very loving. She sleeps with my 11 year old son every night but we all love her and are really enjoying her being in our life. Patricia, TN ~ July 2005 |

| Richard, I met with the driver this morning in Fairfax, VA and picked up "Jo". He took great care of her and I'm sure he made the long ride up here quite comfortable and enjoyable! He took the crate back with him too. Jo is precious, beautiful and seems to be very intelligent! She attaches to people very quickly. I will keep you informed on how she is doing and with pictures too. Thanks again for caring as much as you do and for all of your hard work. May God continue to bless everyone as he has through this entire situation!! Best Regards, Bob ~ July 2005 |

| Hello Richard, I wanted to write & thank you for the puppy we call Carly She is 14 weeks now, and a lot of fun. Much smarter than her 4 yr old companion dog we also have. Its funny to see a puppy teach a dog, even just to stay in the yard! The Vet just loves her too, she's on the puppy program that services her every few weeks for the first 10 months. I'll send a picture one day soon, thanks again for a great pup! Sincerely, Bruce Rifenburg, New York ~ April 05 |

| Hi Richard, I purchased Toby from you about three months ago and he is more than I could have ever asked for. He is so loyal, smart, and just loves to be around people. He'll be six months old in a couple of days but he is so well behaved for a puppy. Toby graduated from puppy kindergarten, the teacher loved him and thought he was such a great dog because he never took his eyes of me. He was also neutered last Tuesday, which I decided was the best thing for him. Today he experienced snow for the first time and he had so much fun running around with my Golden Retriever Savannah. I heard that once you own a Border Collie you fall in love with the breed and I have. I am absolutely in love with Toby and I thank you so much for bringing him into my life. There is a picture attached for you to see how beautiful he is. -Miranda Gallinelli ~ November 04 |

| Hi Richard! Just wanted you to know that Red got here safe and sound! He is the most adorabe dog I have ever seen. He's absolutely wonderful. Also, Charles & his wife were there to get their dog, everything went great. I have a picture (I've taken about 100 so far, hehe) that I included of me and Red. Thank you so much again! | Hi Richard. I just thought i would send on a photo of Blaze (Morgan and Chip) and let you know he is doing great. He graduated his first obedience class and just began his agility class. He is so smart (and very stubborn at times :) and loves to be doing something all the time. We are having great fun with him. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of Morgan would you? Well, thanks for a great dog! Christy and Ty, January 2005 |

| Page is beautiful, her picture online did not do her justice. She's now settled at home after a short walk and introductions with 3 of our horses. She's getting along better with the horses so far than the other dogs. They are just not sure what to make of her but I'm sure within the week they will be playing together. Thanks so much for Page, she's a great puppy. If anyone I know is ever looking for Border pups I'll be sure to reccomend you. I'll send pictures of Page when I have some. Thanks, Heather ~ Christmas 2004 |

| Hi Mr. Swafford,Here are some pictures of the puppies, Belle and Toby. She's just a dear little girl. She curls up and sleeps under my chin! Toby is all boy! He loves to play with our 10 month old BC puppy and then curl up and sleep in the corner. They will be happy here... plenty of safe room to roam and fun playmates. These puppies were a birthday gift to our boy who turned 16 in December. One of his biggest interests is animals, and he loves border collies -- we've raised two other BCs during his last 16 years. He would like to learn to train them on sheep. We believe Border Collies are the friendliest, happiest, smartest dogs, and these two are no exception. The puppies arrived less than 48 hours ago and are trying hard to please us... paper training isn't going to be difficult - they stand on the paper and let their little hineys hang over the edge, but they're already trying! Toby seems to know his name, and Belle even though she's less than 1/2 his size, lets him know who's boss! (just like a woman). We feel really blessed that Nicholas happened on your web site. He came home from school and said that he'd found a great site for puppies in computer class and wanted me to look right away. He knows I'm a sucker for a cute BC face! And your puppies are the cutest -- these two especially. Thank you... We will keep in touch. We have family in Southern Virginia and sometime we will be coming to see you -- probably with your little ones in tow. The Bugg Family, Dave, Vickie, Nicholas, Alexis and Zachary and Toby, Belle, Lucy and Domino. We're still working on getting a pose from Toby -- He just wants to romp! When I have one I'll send it to you. February 05

| Hi Richard. I wanted to give you an update on Red. We named him Maddox, and he's just the most loving, playful, and smart little guy. He never leaves my or my husbands side, and he loves to go on car rides. I attached a picture of him out in the yard, where he loves to run around and chase the butterflies. :) Crystal ~ February 05 |

| Hi Richard. I just wanted to give you a little update on Maddox ('Red'). We moved into our new house and put up a fence in the back so him and his big sister Kadie could run around all day. He looooves to chase the butterflies. I attached some pictures.. he's getting so big! The black dog is Kadie, whom he can't live without. Crystal ~ April 05 |

Hi Richard, Just wanted to let you know that the puppy arrived, he is beautiful!! John the driver was a very nice man and very timely, we are very excited about our new addition. We named him Jett, he arrived home late last night, however with the long drive I'm sure he slept the whole time, once we got him home....it was time to play (it was almost 1am) Jett took immediately to our other dog (Silky Terrier) "Lita" she mothers him and he seems to like it.
Today we took Jett to the vineyard, he felt right at home, he had lots of room to run however he chose to stay close at our heels. We also took him to the greenhouses and he enjoyed very much mingling and making friends with all our employees. I think he loves his new home.
I also took him to our vet to get him checked out, Vet said he is beautiful and healthy. Richard thank you so much for this little guy, we hope that Jett becomes the great working dog we anticipate him to be, we are interested a little later for an other border collie as the vineyard may be too much for only one dog, we would love to have another of your pups in the future. In the meantime, I took some pics at home this evening, we had to laugh, it seems the closest Jett will ever be to cattle again is going to be on my leather furniture. But as you can see he fits in very well and has adjusted great. My son Jared has not left him since he's been home from school. I will forward you more pictures later on. Again thank you, Eadie Mastronardi ~ April 05 |

| Mr. Swafford, My boyfriend and I got a puppy from you that was born OCT. 23 of last year. I just wanted to up date you on her. She is doing wonderful. She goes everywhere we go and even with him to work. Her name is CJ. CJ loves going to the lake and chasing the cows at his house. She is such a smart dog. We have been able to teach her quite a few different commands already. She is like our child. Thank you for such an intelligent, beautiful, dog. She has brought such joy to our lives. I have enclosed a picture of her. Lauren Wood ~October 2004 |

| Hello Richard, Here's the update on Pete. He is a quick learner, he was housebroken in 3 days which I find quit fast for a puppy. This is the only puppy that we had that did not chew on things. He is mellow puppy and we do want him to bark which is almost a month now, and to this date we have not hear him bark. We try to teach him by barking ourselves too, he just looked at us, as if there is something loose in our head. But all in all, everybody loves him. Sincerely, Irwin Magnayon ~October 2004 |

We will forward a picture in the near future. ~ Dec 04 |

Good Morning Richard: Ginger is very ok we went to Delta cargo and wait i was very nervous waiting in there for Ginger to come. Then when the man of cargo arrive with her ( I tough that it was bigger) she stare at me and my boyfriend and start moving her tail. Then we get in the car and I took her out of the kennel and we went home. In home my other dog (female lab) starts sniffing and play with her, I think my Lab was more excited than us to have a new puppy to play with her. Her new name is "Ginseng" because she is so energetic and so beautiful I have never seen a puppy so beautifull (besides my Lab) lol. I want to say THANK YOUUUUUUU !!!!!!! for all of these trouble you pass but it is worth it because im so happy and again I said she is beautifull. You have great ejemplars there. So greeting from Puerto Rico and you are welcome here anytime you want to have a tropical vacations !!!! Heidi, Puerto Rico, August 2004

| I just wanted to give you an update on how my puppy's been doing. "Jay," the blue merle male, is now "Indiana," as in "Indiana Jones." His temperament is excellent. I was worried about having a super-hyper border collie puppy (I've heard horror stories about them from other people) that ran around chewing things up and making a big mess when left alone. But Indy is so good at busying himself and not chewing things up that don't belong to him! I never worry about leaving him home alone and out of his crate (except for the potty-issue). He loves all this toys and is very nondestructive ( he has chewed up a few things, but nothing major) and easygoing. It's so nice to have a puppy that can calm down and relax when we do and play when we're ready. He seems so mature already! This is Indiana at 14 weeks. You were right, what a beautiful dog! It looks like his ears are going to prick up the next few months. I wasn't expecting that!Anyway, thanks again for bringing us together! Indy really is a great dog. I can't wait 'til he gets his potty-training down and starts learning new tricks and games! I'll update you again as he progresses. Can't thank you enough! =D Sincerely, Stevie Ideno,Savannah, GA. | Richard: I purchased my pup in May of 2004. He has become a member of my family very quickly. He is already beginning to herd my horses on his own with no training from me at all. He is very smart, loving, and extremely beautiful everyone compliments me on how great my dog is. He even fits in with my other dog which I did not think was possible with any dog. But they are now great friends. Thanks so much for the wonderful addition to my family. Rita Moore, Brandenburg, KY, August 2004 |

| Hello Richard, I want to give you an update on the puppy we purchased from you. Lace is now "Sami" (after the Sami people of northern Scandinavia and Finland). She is doing well. Being 5 months old now, she is starting to really grow and of course lose her puppy teeth. Just today, she caught a frisbee for the first time and we're all really excited about that including Sami. She has a wonderful life with many trails to explore and great swimming spots which she loves. She has been able to come to work with me often and has met so many people and other doggies which she also loves. She is very polite in public and never wants to deny anyone from getting to meet her! People seem to gravitate toward her and are always interested in what kind of a dog she is and impressed with her behavior. She knows the names of many of her toys, people, and favorite activities. The other day she found a wrist watch in a field full of long grass, brought it to us and dropped it. I couldn't believe it but to her it was "no big deal". We haven't decided what "job" she'll enjoy most. I think she could excel in many things. She loves to play "find it"(search and rescue) but at a young age took a liking to running through culverts at the park and scampering across logs. She is quite the dare-devil and likes to climb seemingly impossible areas. I think she just likes to scare her mom :) I will try to send you a picture when I can. Thank you for working so well with us to find our little girl! Sarah Lehto and Patrice Jankowski, Jericho, Vermont, July 2004 p.s. She looks a lot like her father Cody and am wondering if you have a picture of her mother, Cleo? |

| Richard, I just wanted to let you know that we had a long, but safe trip home (24 hours!!). We have named the puppy "Ella" and she has already made herself at home. She is getting along well with our other three dogs and they have been pretty tolerant of her, especially considering that she is only 8 weeks old and already bigger than all three of them! I will keep you updated on how she is doing. Thanks again, Nancy & Marc |

Hi Richard, Just wanted to let you know how the new "herd" was doing. I named the red merle male Sam, and the red and white male Carl (I don't know why, he kinda looked like a Carl to me!!) Anyway, the silver merle female, Cay, is really coming around. She loves to lay on the couch with me at night. Sam and Carl are a joy to be around. They wrestle, ride on the four wheeler wagon, chase the cats, whatever, just have a ball all the time. Marty loves Blue Diamond. She has taken up with him really well and is good in the house too. She's learning how to sit and stay now. My black/white female, Squeaker, is jealous, but they all get along fine. They haven't figured out what to make of the horses yet, but they don't bother them at all. They are such good dogs! They stay around me all day and have never wandered off. They like to play but haven't made a mess or chewed much up. I give them plenty of tennis balls and toys to play with and they love tug of war. Carl reminds me so much of your boy Ben, it's amazing! They all got a bath yesterday and weren't too happy about it at the time, but they ran like a bunch of monkeys after they were rinsed. I think they all felt "refreshed." We're going to the vet on Monday to get everyone wormed, booster shots, and Rabies. I'm sure that'll be a trip with them all in the backseat!
Amanda loved the pups. I got them to her on Friday, they played in the barn at my place Thursday night, chased the cats until they wore themselves out. They are sooo cute! Let me know when BM2 comes home. I would like to know more about him. I love the blue merles!! He looked nice. In the meantime, I'll try to send some business your way. I travel to a lot of horse shows and sales and usually take a dog or two with me. People always want to know where to get one. If you'll send me some of your cards, I'll sure hand them out. Thanks again, Kristen Campbell ~ Black Hill Farms |
